Music and Lyrics - Review

I sat down to watch this one with my wife. I wasn't reallt interested to be honest but on a Saturday night she rules the roost as far as the TV is concerned! The film has been out for a few years now but was putting out so to speak on 5.
The headliners are Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The film centres around a 'has-been' 80's musician who having been ripped off by his former bandmate is now making a living shaking his thing on down-market locations to middle aged women. Drew Barry is the girl that's gonna change his life around.

The film wasn't awful by any standards but in typical eel-good rom-com performances you experience the inevitable lovers tiff before the big romantic gesture at the end and it's that romantic gesture that if you're not careful will convince you that the previuous 90 mins was good.

I you want to watch the floppy headed Grant mumble his way through another 'B' movie then you'll be happy along with all the other hopeless romantics. The humour was under stated by the actors which meant that many o the jokes went unoticed by the wife as I found myself picking them up. The film lacks energy and like the middle eight of a BeeGees song this film lacked energy and creation and left you waiting for the big climax.

So here is my score.......4 Weddings out of 10. Get it? See what I did there?

'2012' The end couldn't come quick enough!

Check out my Youtube channel and sub me thereLet's get one thing straight right from the start. I love a movie that's stuffed with billions of dollars worth of CGI as much as the next man but the movie '2012' lacked a proper story line to keep me engaged. A film like this should aim to at least be one of the most remembered movies 20 years from now. However, like 'I am Legend' it will be forgotton soon and it's such a shame. The movie is near enough 3 hours long and even though I knew it was poor after just an hour I had to watch it through for no other reason than that hour would have been wasted! The plot is true to science but the far-fetched scenarios spoil it (check out the car run when it kicks off) for me. The wife and I watched it, both thought it was average and now my friends I am warning you! Don't watch it! For a film that was showing the end of the world it left me begging for just that rather than sit through the whole thing! Check out my squidoo page for the latest news from Hollywoooood!

Harry Pothead!

Another day and hopefully the start of another lens, keep the empire expanding as a famous Roman Emperor once said. Not strictly true, they didn't have squidoo back then. I'm not too sure what the next lens will be, probably some kind of expansion on the first Star Wars one I built yesterday. However, I am tempted somewhat to build one based on Daniel Radcliffe who today was uncovered for allegedly smoking a joint. I have to admit that it made me laugh out loud. When your aka Harry Potter you really don't want to get caught doing pot. Too many jokes and too many headline puns will be spent over the coming weeks. The issue has already spurned loads of jokes in work that I could build a lens on them alone. So tempted!

On the Road to a Million!

So it's started! I've started to properly give it a try. It seems that people are making money on squidoo. Some a couple of dollars and others 3-4 numbers. At the moent I've earned $0.01. In the UK that's less than 1 penny. lol! Anyway, see what you think of my first 2 lenses...click here and here and while your there you might want to try yourself. God help me!
